1. What is the difference between coaching and counseling?
Both coaching and counseling can be supportive environments bringing clients to change, but there are differences among the two. Coaching focuses on partnering with clients on present and future areas they would like to improve on by uncovering their own solutions through their strengths. Counseling focuses on past and present behaviors and beliefs, where theoretical frameworks and techniques are applied to assist clients in obtaining a deeper understanding to progress towards change.
2. Since you’re a counselor/therapist can I receive both coaching and therapy from you?
No, I can only provide one service to a client at a time. If you are obtaining coaching services I am unable to provide you with counseling services. During our consultation we will discuss whether you are appropriate for coaching or if you better suited for counseling/therapy. I can only provide counseling/therapy to GA, FL, & NE residents; therefore, if you are interested in counseling/therapy after we start our coaching relationship a referral will be provided for you or you can seek one independently.
3. How do I set up an appointment?
Please visit my scheduling page https://calendly.com/whoamama/15min to set up a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your individual or organization’s needs. Speaking requests can be made by emailing info@whoamamas.com with your event date and details prior to scheduling a consultation.
4. What if I need to cancel my appointment?
All appointments need to be cancelled 48 hours in advance by emailing info@whoamamas.com. If an appointment is missed without cancelling then the client will forfeit that meeting.
5. How do you meet with your clients?
Clients can engage in a meeting via video conferencing. All video conferencing meetings will occur via the online platform Zoom or Doxy.me (therapy only) where an invitation containing the call in number, link, and meeting ID is included.
6. What happens during our first meeting?
Meetings will occur at the appointment time and designated meeting space previously established. We will then discuss the reason why you are seeking help. It is important to keep in mind that coaching is a collaborative effort and we are a team working together to reach your goals. Lastly, we will discuss what actions you will take once our meeting is complete, and will schedule our next appointment.
Let’s work together
